"The number one second hand book store!"
Pegasaurus Publishing in the news
We are a Sussex based independent publishing company. Our ethos is simple; to showcase writing and illustrating talent from local Sussex people and to publish books that are of interest to Sussex residents and visitors.
This company was set up by Katie Ramsay in 2010. Struggling to find a job post travelling, Katie decided to tackle the recession head on and set up her own company. Fully aware that many aspiring artists and writers struggle ot get their work out there she decided to use her home county of Sussex as a platform for showcasing local talent.
The Eco Guide to Sussex is the first publication from Pegasaurus Publishing. It was thought up after a brain storming session in which Katie tried to consider what was missing from Sussex bookshelves and what genre of publication would be interesting to locals.
Pegasaurus Publishing are currently working on a number of future titles including a Sussex Poetry Anthology and Stories of the Old Cross, memoirs of Chichester Cross as well as a project with some local schools to encourage budding writers and illustrators to enter a Sussex wide writing/illustrating competition. The lucky winners will get their work published and recieve book tokens! For more info: contact us!
The Eco Guide to Sussex Edited by Katie Ramsay, Introduction by Sarah Lewis-Hammond. RRP 12.99 ISBN 978-0-9566357-0-9
We are all aware how climate change affects the world but there is less media emphasis regarding the effects of this climate change on the UK and more specifically on Sussex.
Based along the south east coast Sussex is at risk of water shortage and rising sea levels. Sussex landmarks are at risk of flooding and we are subject to increased temperature.
More than just an explanation of climate change this book demonstrates how Sussex residents, people like you and me, can take small steps to change our lifestyles and to help combat climate change. From making alterations to our homes to growing our own food. regardless of the amount of space we have This book advises you how and where to shop for local produce and offers some seasonal recipes to try at home.
For Sussex residents and visitors to our beautiful county there are chapters looking at leisure and lifestyle discussing shopping and cosmetics and chapters examining the concepts of a ‘staycation’ and a green wedding. This book demonstrates that in all areas of our lives we can make small changes to live a more environmentally friendly life and often save money at the same time.
Furthermore through looking at case studies from individuals and organisations based in Sussex this book showcases the people that are already doing thir bit for the environment and provides us all with inspiration to follow suite.
